Lymph Node Surgery

Holly had her second surgery yesterday to remove the remaining lymph nodes in her left arm. This surgery was done to ensure any traces of cancer in the lymph nodes are removed. The procedure went well and she's at home starting the healing process.
She's in good spirits, she was feeling reasonably well when I picked her up from the hospital which was great. They administered the anesthetic differently this time as she easily gets nauseated by anesthesia and it helped a lot, she was feeling much better coming home than last time. Our kids are having and extended sleepover with Grandma and Grandpa which gives us some additional calm time at home.
She was able to get some rest last night and is feeling good this morning, she's noticing the pain more today but she has some strong pain medication so hopefully she can stay ahead of it.
She'll be returning to the surgeons clinic in about a week to get the surgical drain removed, at that time she may get the lymph node biopsy results to see if there was any remaining cancer in them. If the results aren't ready she'll have to wait until mid September to get them.
After a few weeks of recovery she'll begin radiation therapy which will be an intense three weeks of treatments. We'll have more details regarding that treatment on September 7th after we meet with the radiation oncologist again.

Thank you for the update, Dan! I’m so glad to hear that this will be the last treatment, and you all can get back to some normalcy soon. We are always here for anything you guys need. We love you guys!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Very relieved Holly had less nausea this time with the anesthesia. Very thankful for grandparents! Praying for healing and calm hearts and minds as you navigate the radiation. We are here for you if u need anything!
