Chemotherapy is Underway

Holly's visit to the cancer clinic on Monday for the first round of chemotherapy went well. They invited me in for the first session so we could both listen to all of the information they needed to pass on to us and I could be there to support Holly, which was a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately it sounds like that invitation won't be extended beyond the first visit, but it was good to be with her for at least the first experience.
The nursing staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable, and had a lot of good information to pass on. She was given two separate chemo drugs. The first drug was a ten minute manually administered dose followed by about an hour of the second drug via IV drip. So far she has experienced mild nausea and fatigue which are both common, we're crossing our fingers that the symptoms continue to be fairly mild.
We were back at the hospital today for a teaching session on self-administering the immune booster shot. I was allowed to participate in this appointment as well as this is something I can help with at home, she has to have a booster dose one day following each chemo session for at least the next three sessions. Holly was extremely brave (as usual) and after the nurse demonstrated how to properly perform the injection Holly was able to go through the procedure herself with me nervously watching.
She's resting at home now for the next couple weeks until we're back for the second session of chemotherapy around April 4th, we'll be watching her closely and trying to keep her as comfortable as possible.

Thank goodness you two have each other, to lean on through this journey. Much love to the whole family! ❤
Oh my goodness, u r so courageous to administer the shots, so very proud of you. I pray the nausea doesn't get out of hand and you're able to get the rest you need, amen! xoxo
Here is a song and a prayer for you both... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KT83aYsBd6o&t=2626s
